Fresh Bread
Brick-oven Turkish bread baked daily on the premises.
From Turkey, through Brooklyn, to Staten Island
The address changed. The welcome never did.
Brooklyn beginnings
Grand Sahara first opened on Coney Island Avenue, bringing the tastes its family knew from Turkey to a neighborhood table in Brooklyn. Friends and families came for warm bread, sizzling kebabs and the feeling of being welcomed in.
In 2019, that tradition crossed the Verrazzano and found a new home in Staten Island. Today, Grand Sahara serves Dongan Hills with Turkish dine-in, food to go, island-wide delivery, catering and private celebrations.

What hasn't changed
The food remains grounded in the rituals that make a Turkish table feel generous: warm bread, shared appetizers, charcoal smoke and one more plate than anyone expected.
Brick-oven Turkish bread baked daily on the premises.
Kebabs, chops and grilled favorites prepared over charcoal.
Meze, entrées and desserts made for passing, tasting and lingering.
